Mercury Racing Releases Flash Lite PCM Recalibration Service - Passport to Anywhere

FOND DU LAC, Wis., Oct. 27, 2009 – Mercury Racing is pleased to announce the introduction of Flash Lite, a Mercury Propulsion Control Module (PCM) recalibration service. Flash Lite enables owners of 662 SCi, 700 SCi, 850 SCi and 1075 SCi sterndrive engine packages to, for a nominal fee, send their PCMs back to Mercury Racing and have the fuel calibration updated from the previously required 91 posted pump octane (R + M)/2, or (98 RON) global calibration to a 89 posted pump octane (R + M)/2, or (95 RON) global calibration fuel rating.
The revised fuel calibrations do not adversely affect engine life or performance, with the exception of the 1075 SCi which is reduced by 50 horsepower when the PCM fuel calibration is “re-flashed” for 89 posted pump octane (R + M)/2, or (95 RON) global calibration fuel compatibility.

525 EFI Race Sterndrive Engine Refresh Maintenance Program
FOND DU LAC, Wis., Oct. 26, 2009 – Mercury Racing continues to offer factory engine refreshing and sealing certification for the popular 525 EFI race sterndrive engine package. The service is available to all offshore race organizations and competitors racing the 525 EFI sterndrive engine.
The factory-direct service, based at Mercury Racing’s world headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wis., features a complete inspection and refresh of the engine – from the bare cylinder block through a final power run on a dynamometer.
Refreshes are done strictly to Mercury Racing factory standards and specifications. All replacement parts are Mercury Racing specified manufacturers’ original parts. From Oct. 26, 2009, through Feb. 26, 2010, 525 EFI and 600 SCi Bravo XR engine package orders will receive a free upgrade (a $6,437 retail value) to the Mercury Racing Integrated Transom System (ITS).
The ITS, featuring integral power steering cylinders as well as performance upgrades to the Bravo XR drive housings, enhances drive height flexibility, while making the transom more aesthetically pleasing and simplifying installation. FOND DU LAC, Wis., Sept. 10, 2009 – Mercury Racing is pleased to announce the release of the next generation of Mercury OptiMax 200XS ROS (race offshore) and OptiMax 200XS SST (super sport tunnel) outboards. The new race models feature a Gen 2 – 2.5 Liter OptiMax powerhead, which combines components from the Mercury Racing OptiMax 2.5XS outboard and the current Mercury Racing engineered OptiMax 175 Pro XS outboard.
The OptiMax 200XS ROS is the official power of U.I.M. Class 3C offshore racing, a highly competitive single-engine, mono-hull offshore racing class that competes throughout Europe.

FOND DU LAC, Wis., July 27, 2009 – Mercury Racing is pleased to announce custom color options are now available for the popular dry-sump NXT1, NXT1 SSM and Six drives and transoms sold as part of a Mercury Racing sterndrive engine package. The eight color options, first available on Mercury Racing sterndrive engines, provide boaters with an ever expanding array of color combinations to complement the dynamic paint schemes offered by today’s performance boat builders.
Drives and transoms can match the color of the engine or be another color altogether. The custom color for transoms and drives must match, i.e., the transoms and drives are painted as a set.
Color options include Mercury Racing Blue Metallic, Dandy Candy Red Metallic, Devil Red-Eye Nonmetallic, Slate Grey Metallic, Fire Orange Pearl, Nanna Yeller Pearl, Hulkin’ Green Pearl and Joyze Poypole Metallic.

Series’ Inaugural Race in Evansville, Ind.
FOND DU LAC, Wis., June 25, 2009 – Shaun Torrente of Homestead, Fla., captured his second consecutive checkered flag on the 2009 F1-ChampBoat Series after winning the Old National Bank Grand Prix Sunday, June 21, in Evansville, Ind. Torrente also won the pole position on Saturday during qualifying runs for Sunday’s 50-lap final.
Race conditions were extreme with racers and fans enduring 113 degree heat indexes, and the mighty Ohio River playing host to a challenging six turn, 1.25- mile race course. Rough course conditions forced three different racers out of the race, resulting in a total of three restarts within the first 25 laps. The 29-year-old Torrente delivered perfect starts each time – maintaining a 14 second lead over second place finisher and defending series champion, Terry Rinker of Tampa, Fla.
