I've recently aquired a chopper propeller for my old inline 6 and the prop is so big I had to take the turn fin right off. The turn fin had a notch cut out of it already, but with this chopper, there's just no way. Do you guys with choppers all take your turn fins off? Do you install torque tabs instead? Driving at WOT with no turn fin is quite a turn fin.

Sorry about that last sentence. The boat pulls like hell to the left at WOT. It's serious.
I was out for a run trying to get a picture of my pegged speedometer and WOT tach and ended up hitting a wake while at WOT with a camera in front of my face and a leg hold on the steering wheel. When my steering wheel crotch clamp let up briefly, the wheel spun hard to the left and I ended up in a serious perdicerment. It was frightening. Seriously. That run showed me that it was really not safe or wise to let go of the wheel to take a picture during periods of that much torque steer. I was able to get the picture on the next run, but before I could get the camera put down and a hand back on the wheel, the speedo tube poped off and started pissing on my leg. For a few brief moments I had a whole lot going on.
Thanks,
Tom

Sorry about posting this in a forsale area. Please don't respond here. Either mail me (tom.brown@swp.com) and let me know that I'm an idiot, or post a reply to my repost of this thread over in the technical discussion area.
