Hey Chris, you charging any extra for the pic of the scary looking dude on the prop blade? Bet you put that on there to scare away those big carp down around the Port Grill. :D Wouldn't want to hit one of those at speed! Speaking of the Port Grill..... we're looking forward to coming down Labor Day Weekend, meeting Lloyd and seeing his red and white Euro.

Any idea how this prop would work on an Allison Grandsport w/Merc 2.5?

From what Ive been reading this is THE prop for a allison. The guys over on the allison board really seam to like it alot. It worked really well on my STV . Nice and smooth no torque steer at all. tuck the motor and it holeshot well. Not a drag prop but it came out nice. When all said and done I just didnt think it was $500 better than the E.T. I made.

I'm running a 26" version of this prop on my GSS/Merc 2.5. It runs well for me.
Email me if you want a complete rundown...

It's going to be returned to Hydromotive in about a week.
We just thought we would pass our dealer price on to some one else instead of paying a re-stock fee to return it.
:D

It will be shipped back to Hydromotive this friday where the price will go up about 100.00 bucks.
Someone should really buy this thing. I would but it's too much for me.
Did you try that T4X on your STV? Wonder how it may have worked. Still haven't tried my T4X 30p yet. Nice piece of metal they are. Craftsmanship on mine is excellent.
Guys the price may be expensive, but you are saving near 100 dollars if buy this one vs. direct from Hydromotive.
JMC: Thanks for posting the link about the test.
Has anyone tried the T3x or the T3 comp? I really like my 26" T4x. You are not going to pull a skier with it but it is a great prop. The blades are a little thicker than I like but overall it is very smooth running. From what I have seen they are kinda tough to turn, definately a chunk of steel. I am looking for a top end wheel. T3X.....comp?........E.T?.......Triton? What do you Ally boys think? Its a 2003 GS with a 280. Jay

Would that be too much pitch for a Vector with 175? That is the prop I was considering, what do you guys think?

I would expect it would be pretty close.
on that Vector. The 28 may be too stiff for the 175. These props are very nice.

But that was pre solid mounts, hydraulic jack, new steering cables, trim on wheel, foot throttle etc etc. I have a 23"merc chopper and a 23" merc cleaver but haven't had the boat in the water since adding all the goodies. All things point to a t4x. Just don't know how big I can go. More HP is in the future but so is a different hull(STV, Mirage or HST) but for now???!?

Oh yea XS did you run yours on your 150xs? Is it a smaller Dia.?

I know HydroVector was turning a 28 chopper at like 6400 rpm with a stock 2.4 / 200 and I bet you would'nt lose much rpm with the 175.
The T4X is getting shipped back this friday, so if you want it for the good price it will have to be by then.

not plane out. Fighting some engine gremlins as well, but at least a 25" chopper planed out. Figure the T4-X is simply wrong for my setup.

Randy is close ran my Vector with 28 chopper at 85mph(gps) @ 6700 rpm. I also ran the Hydromotive Quad-4 25p on the vector. It ran 80 but would over rev, it was my ski prop.

Nelsoncat,
Your 175 is really about a 155-160 hp. The 1978 motors were powerhead rated instead of propshaft rated. It is a vertical reed motor, right? The 26 would probably work though. You have a light boat and even a '78 175 should turn a 26 OK.
My 2 cents.

I have a 2003 Stroker boat with a 280 ss fat shaft. Do you know of anyone trying this prop out on that type of set up. I am running a 28 Bullet cut Chopper from Performance Props Plus and I turning it around 77-7800 rpms. Most speed I got was 96.3 gps. I was just wondering how do you think it would run on my setup before I buy one.
Thanks
Craig Roddy
